First up we have the infamous sock that I have been knitting. I finally finished the toe decreases and kitchenered it early this afternoon (or late morning). I think it turned out pretty well, and started in on the cuff of the second sock, of which I only have 9 rows so far. I am enjoying this simple pattern, and will post more specs and details when I finish the second sock.
Next up is a pair of children's mittens. This is the first one with just the thumb left to do. If the yarn looks vaguely familiar, it is the leftover that I had from doing the Kirstin Bag. These are looking cute so far, at least in my opinion.
Anyway, I'm hoping to get the socks done within the week, and should have no problems unless I have a ton of school work that needs to be taken care of first. I don't anticipate the mittens taking very long because as you can see, I just have the thumb left on the first one, and then the second one. Since they are size 2-4, they should knit up fairly quickly, and I should be able to get work done on those tomorrow after church...shoot, it wouldn't surprise me if I get them done tomorrow afternoon!
So, there you have it - my proof that I actually have been knitting! I've also been working on a scarf (got the stitch pattern out of one of my knitting books) with the last ball of kool aid dyed yarn that I did up last spring. When it gets finished, or nearly finished, I will post a picture and the pattern. This is definately going to be one that needs to be blocked afterwards though...
Happy knitting!

Looking good! I have a scarf I may start this weekend. By the look of our weather forecast this week I'll need it! Winter finally here?
Lexa, we've got a touch of snow on the ground but nothing big - less than a dusting. There were a few flurries this morning, but nothing stayed, and it didn't last long. I haven't heard the forcast though, so I'm not sure what we have in store here.
Love the socks and the color! I need to get another pair on the needles soon. And the mittens are adorable!
No snow here, it was in the mid 70's today. This weather is so weird.

(I've been trying to comment but blogger didn't recognize my password for some reason-so, it's taken me awhile)
Have you ever been knitting!! The colors in that sock are just delicious! I'm sure you'll enjoy wearing them!
And, since we're speaking of weather--6 degrees today with a couple feet of snow on the ground! Brr-rrr doesn't begin to cover it!
:)
Great socks love the colors, are you doing that, or is that some of the self striping yummy stuff?
And thanks for your recent comment on the blog. Things took a turn for the worse and got quite hairy but I pray little guy is now out of the woods.
Oh it is opal dreamcatcher. I can tell by the pattern on the sock. It's a lovely colour way.
And the mittens are lovely too.
My hubby is going to a yarn shop near where he works as the lady has put away some Opal rainforest 2 Peacock yarn for me.
That finished sock is great! I love the colours and patterning! :0)
I love the socks and your new look (how long is it since I visited) I love joining KALS and things too.
I love your socks. I really have to get back to socks ... but so much to do and so little time. Tomorrow we'll get snow down here maybe. Strange weather this year. I don't mind the snow as long as I can be at home knitting & tomorrow I AM! Yah!
Thanks all for your comments!
HDW, yes it is self striping. Susan is right, it is Opal Dreamcatcher.
Susan, I bet the peacock colourway is beautiful!
That is some really cool sock yarn. Love it!

The sock looks great!! I'm glad you're enjoying the yarn. The mittens look great!
Yay for mittens!!!! I love the fuzzy warmth of them! I am constantly wearing mine, and it hasn't even gotten that cold here yet.
On a side note, I just wanted to invite you to join a new Yahoo Group. Stash Purge it is all about cleaning out your stash, and aquiring new from other peoples. Please feel free to check us out. WE are new as I said so it will probably be slow to get off the ground. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/stashpurge/?yguid=295085985
And don't worry if you just delete this comment my feelings won't be hurt!
That sock at the top looks crazy! I don't mean that in a bad way at all -- I love the total effect -- but the colorway is incredibly, wonderfully lively! What is the yarn?
The mitten looks great in the Kristin Bag yarn.
I love the socks!! And the mittens look great. I hope to make my first pair of mittens soon, (I got the yarn and the pattern... just need the time!!)
I am IN LOVE with the socks!!! That's the only reason I want to learn how to knit: so I can make my own socks like that.
BRAVO!!!!!
