I am quite sure that I am probably the only knitter in the world - ok, maybe not the world, just the blogging community - who had not knitted this awesome scarf until now. Anyway, it was definately an easy pattern, and the directions were not hard to follow at all. Yes, I did make a few mistakes, but I don't think they affect the pattern enough to really stand out.
I used Bernat Satin yarn in the "snow" colourway (colour 04005), and size 4.5mm bamboo needles. I only used one skein (3.5 oz/100 g, 166 yds), as that was all I had of this. I have 2 more skeins of the Bernat Satin, but they are in different colours. Anyway, the scarf isn't overly long but it is long enough to wrap around your neck under your coat. I liked using this yarn because it was soft to the touch, and knit up fairly quickly.
To the right is a closeup of the work, and if you spot a mistake...please keep it to yourself, LOL!
Since I got this new blog, I haven't been able to figure out how to put the words beside the pictures. For some reason it posts the picture and the words are below it. In the compose section of blogger it looks fine, as well as in the "preview" section, but when it is actually posted...it doesn't seem to work. Maybe if I contact the creator of the template he might be able to tell me what to do...
Anyway, I am currently working on the 2nd sock of one I started a few months ago. I got the first sock completed and then started working on Christmas gifts and the items for my cousin's baby shower, so I didn't get the second one completed. Once I get this sock done, then I am going to knit up a pair using my yarn that I won in Karen's contest.
Off I go to knit for awhile. Happy New Year, and happy knitting!

I think you meant Ainsley Sock and not Scarf, LOL ... but that was because you were just talking about your finished scarf. It's beautiful by the way!
looove the scarf and you can add me to the list of people who haven't knit it yet :)
The scarf looks great! I do like Bernat Satin, it's got that shine to it. We have a lady (my next door neighbor, actually) who knits a lots of socks with it.
Happy New Year!
LOL Rhonda! I noticed that just now when I went to check on comments and now have gone in and fixed it so that it says sock instead of scarf...silly me!
Beautiful - Branching Out was one of my first "lace" projects, and a favorite.
You can add me to the list of people who haven't knit Branching Out yet. I really should tho ... it's very pretty.
Oooh, I love the scarf! I also am on the list of those who haven't knit it yet!! (Guess it's a longer list than you thought!!) Maybe in 2007.....
Add me to that list too! I think I started it once, but don't remember the finished object. Yours is very pretty, I love it in white.
Happy New Year!

Very pretty scarf! I haven't knit this pattern, either, although I may one day. It looks like such a nice knit. :0)
When did you change your blog template? I bet it was ages ago and I was just too dense to notice it until now. I really like it! It seems particulary nice during the winter months.
I love your Branching Out! I am one of the very few people who hasn't made it yet. I think a white scarf is a really wonderful little luxury. Enjoy it (assuming it's for you)!
I haven't knit that pattern. It is pretty so I might have to. Happy New Year!
What a beautiful scarf! So lacey and dainty!
See. You're not alone. I haven't knit it, and I haven't even thought about knitting it. But I'm glad you did...it's lovely.
