Kid's Socks - An FO!

Want to make a card like the one above? Go here.

Well, I got a pair of socks completed - not the Falling In Love ones, though (I'll be tackling those babies this week though, getting the cuff on the first one repaired, and then start the second sock). No, the one I got finished are the kids ones I mentioned previously.

I seriously need to get me some sock blockers. The make the socks much better looking for pictures - and I'm sure they help in blocking too, lol.

I took the picture outside a little while ago. It was nice and sunny for a short while. It's been lightly snowing off and on this morning - nothing major, just some flurries. I went out back to the patio and used the lattice around the top of the patio as a backdrop. I'm not sure if the dusting of snow is showing or not, but that doesn't really matter. The socks are just propped up, that's why they don't look all that great in the photo...yup, gonna have to look around and find me some sock blockers...I wonder if they come in kids sizes as well?

Anyway, I made the socks with Patons Kroy in the "Winter Eclipse" colourway. I also used 3.0 mm needles, the size called for in the pattern. I followed the generic pattern I always use for kids socks - from the band off a skein of Bernat Hot Sox. I really like this colourway, and it's a good thing too, because I have 2 more skeins of it to make myself a pair of socks in the future!

Yesterday I did a little more work on the Noro scarf, and have begun the second ball. The only thing I don't really like, is with the joining of the second ball, the colour change is abrupt instead of gradual like throughout a skein. I don't really mind it too much though, because that part will probably be the part that goes around the back of the neck anyway.

I'm debating what to start next - should I finish up the Falling In Love Socks or should I start a new sock pattern (the Monkey pattern from Knitty is calling to me). I know that really I should FINISH what I have started already, but hey, I'm like a LOT of other knitters out there...need to start a new project just because, even when there are several that should be finished first...lol. Ok, ok, I'll work finishing up some of the WIPs I have...maybe...I won't promise anything.

Love those finished socks! Decisions, decisions - it's so hard to decide what to do next, when there are so many awesome patterns out there! :0)

nice socks! You know, if you stuff the end of a pair of pantyhose with some rice or whatever, they make fairly nice blockers. Just fit the socks over your "sausages" of rice!

Isn't if difficult refraining from starting a hundred different projects a week? I think I would, if I didn't run out of needles.

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog! I added you to my Bloglines feeds so I'll be dropping by again. I'm very excited about the scarf exchange and can hardly wait!

That card-generator is a neat idea, I should do that, too. And those socks are very pretty!

Great socks, love the color!! I know what you mean about the Monkey sock, I want to knit that one too. Resistance is futile (I think).

Wonderful socks. And, just knit whatever you enjoy, whenever you want! : )

Cute socks and a great colorway! I always have trouble figuring out what to work on: three are so many great patterns and I still have a couple that I've started but I got fruistrated with so it's hard to think about going back to them even though it would be with fresh eyes.

your socks look wonderful. I have a "want to knit list" that is never ending. There are just too many great patterns and great yarn and not enough time.

Can I tell you how much I love the internet? That card catalog generator is just so cute.

The socks look great! I really like how the colors patterned.

I kind of want some sock-blockers too, but then I wonder whether it's silly to spend money on them when it's just for blog vanity (in my case, anyway). Still undecided.

I LOVE< LOVE< LOVE the socks...the diaganal pooling is great!

Sock blockers are on my want list too.....hey you are on the secretpals 10 list...make it known in your blog and who knows....as for me I can;t justify it, as I would not block my socks except when they are first knit, and then probably only for pics,,,,,BUT if someone gave me one well now I would love it HEHEH
