Ok, what a relief! For some reason I had thought that the Knitting Olympics started today. I don't know when or how that got into my head, but it did. I was all worried that I wasn't going to be able to start on time due to school but I had accepted that.
Well, this morning I decided to go back to the post in Stephanie's blog (Yarn Harlot) and double check the starting time. I didn't find that, but I think she had said 2pm eastern time. I did however see that the start date is tomorrow, February 10! Yay! I will now be able to start on time because I don't have any classes on Fridays.
I had planned on knitting on my scarf this evening though for the olympics (I have decided on the Irish Hiking Scarf as the 'cable stitch' scarf that I would do) and was looking forward to it. So, now that I can't do that I will work on socks (but what else...I am a newly diagnosed sock knitter addict!). Maybe I can get my nephew's second sock done of his green pair tonight and start another pair for myself or to put on the mitten tree at church at Christmas...just something to tide me over til I can cast on for the Olympics.
Must get back to studying now, my test in Communication Disorders is in 3 1/2 hours. Don't have quite that long to study though because I still have to get ready for class.

I just signed up for the Knitting Olympics today, and I'm not sure either what time the torch lighting will be but I have a bad feeling that it is during my soaps! (Yep, I'm a General Hopital-a-holic!)
I can't wait to see pics-in-progress of the Irish Hiking Scarf you're gonna do. I have seen that pattern and it is on my "Stuff to Knit one Day" list! Very pretty.
I'm gonna do a cool shrug pattern from 'Creative Knits' magazine as my Olympic project.
Tina, which issue of Creative Knits is it from? I have the January 2006 issue..is it in there?
The pattern I'm using for the Irish Hiking Scarf is from www.helloyarn.com and the pattern there was submitted by Allison Gray. It looks really nice and I'm looking forward to making it.
I used to watch General Hospital years ago...like the early to late 1980's and maybe into the early 1990's. I tried to watch it about a couple months ago and didn't know anyone anymore lol...and was shocked to see that Leslie Webber was back on the show in that character...her character DIED in the early 1980's...
I'm probably too late, but I suggest doing some easy and mindless knitting tonight, the way a runner does an easy sprint the day before the big race. That's my plan: garter stitch all night!

Yep, the shrug pattern is in the January 2006 issue of Creative Knitting; it's called To Fringe or Not to Fringe, and I'll be doing the fringeless version. I'm substituting Lion's Brand Homespun for the ladder yarn they called for (It was on sale and I thought it would look nice).
Your favorite characters coming back from the dead is one of the fun parts of watching the Soaps over a long time, ya see! You never know who is gone for good, or who'll have an identical twin show up, or whose plane really did crash but they survived with no one knowing! Luke's Laura is now in the local nut house, LuLu Spencer went from 6 to 17 this past season, and they brought back Dr Noah Drake (Rick Springfield). See, I wasn't exaggerating when I said I'm stuck on General Hospital! LOL
